Character Information

Name: Ifrit (real name: unknown)
Canon: Arknights
Canon Point: Chapter 5-ish, maximum Trust with Doctor, all sidequests completed. Canon point is a weird thing in a mobile game.
OU/AU/CRAU/OC: OU
Age: Canonically not given, though likely in her teens. For purposes of this app, we'll say 16.

World Information: The world of Terra. There's a lot we still don't know about the world but this summarizes the big points we DO know.

Personal History: There's no solid summary of Ifrit's backstory. There's also no solidified source for Ifrit's backstory. As a mobile game with collectible cast members (or "gacha" game), Ifrit's not included in the "story" plot. Instead, her backstory is gleamed through case files and character dialogue. I'll put together the pieces as best I can and include the relevant text. You can find most things about Ifrit spread among the wiki pages for Ifrit, Silence, Saria, and Ptilopsis. There's also a side story featuring Ifrit which I will mention. (I can't find a video or a text log of the event, unfortunately.) Hover over the red text for relevant information.

Ifrit was raised in Rhine Labs, a research company focused on Originium and Originium Arts. The cover story is that Ifrit was receiving treatment for her Oripathy, but odds are actually that Rhine Labs artificially induced Oripathy into Ifrit as a human experiment. Most likely to create a weapon, or soldier.
[Sources: One, Two, Three]

The Oripathy that Ifrit was stricken with is far more advanced than anybody else seen in the story, having achieved a cell-Originium fusion rate of 19% and blood crystal density of 0.51u/L. It's mentioned that it's so advanced that it's actually changed Ifrit's biological makeup, perhaps also due to having been Infected at such a young age. These changes are obvious on a superficial level and on medical level, and can interfere with the ability to even receive treatment.
[Sources: One, Two]

Oripathy is what gave her the fire powers that Ifrit is best known for. However, it's still a disease. In addition to most likely dying (and at her stage, fairly quickly) without treatment, she also suffers from chronic pain and hallucinations. The hallucinations are often violently disturbing - charred corpses, or people she cares about burning to death. Furthermore, there's a voice in her head, prompting her and urging her to take violent, deadly actions, which she also has to wrestle with.
[Sources: One. Two]

Ifrit was "raised" mainly by two scientists at Rhine Labs, Saria and Silence. She also knew and trusted at least two more, Magallan and Muelsyse, who were noted to be able to calm Ifrit down - a feat not many could handle. Silence and Saria, though, obviously cared a great deal for Ifrit, as Ifrit did for them.
[Source: One, Two, Three, Four]

However, things changed when something called the Flame Demon Incident occurred. This is an incident wherein Ifrit lost control of her powers, or perhaps gave in to the voice in her head, and went on a rampage with her flames. It's unknown how many people died, but Ifrit was desperately trying to stop. But it took Saria physically putting down Ifrit before the incident could be contained. After the incident, Saria left Rhine Labs, and Silence never forgave her for hurting Ifrit. Rhine Labs took steps to cover up the incident - although some whisper about the "Flame Demon Incident," nobody who wasn't there can find out the information on what happened.
[Source: One, Two, Three, Four, Five Six]

Some time after the Flame Demon Incident, and after Saria left Rhine Labs, Silence spirited Ifrit away from Rhine Labs as well, judging it no longer safe for her there. Ptilopsis, a Rhine Labs database maintainer and Silence's helper, came along. Together, they joined Rhodes Island, where Saria was either already working or would later join. Rhodes Island is a pharmaceutical company, but they focus on assisting people with Oripathy, have an independent mobile base, and often work in dangerous situations such as Catastrophes and warfare. As such, all of them work as Operators, putting their skills to use on the battlefield.
[Sources: One]

While at Rhodes Island, Ifrit receives a general education under the Doctor while receiving treatment from the medical staff there, but mainly Silence and Ptilopsis. Although Saria's present there, Silence works to keep Saria separated from Ifrit, and Saria works for the same.
[Source: One, Two, Three]

Although Saria's reasons for being at Rhodes Island aren't entirely known, she is worried about Ifrit, and partially because she actually knows more about Ifrit than Silence does. Namely, she's aware of the fact that Ifrit's Oripathy and the experiments wrought on her can bring about an actual Catastrophe, destroying Rhodes Island completely. In fact, if it's on scale with other Catastrophes, it could destroy an entire city-state.

Because of the nature of her canon, Ifrit's exact participation in the main plot of Arknights - her assistance with Rhodes Island - is entirely subjective. She'll be played as if she participated in a significant number of battles against Reunion - the terrorist group consisting of Infected - and assisting Rhodes Island. She'll also be played as if not participating in the plot dialogue occurring between missions where the actual plot movement happens (since those are scripted dialogue with specific characters not including Ifrit.) As such, she has some knowledge gap about all of the finer details, beyond what she hears from other Operators or would be mentioned in mission briefings.

Personality: Ifrit is a girl shaped by her circumstances and upbringing. She grew up in a lab environment, receiving experimentation and treatments instead of growing up and having a normal childhood. She lacks the societal norms learned from interacting with people her age in casual settings - things like what to say or not to say in certain situations. She even seems genuinely unsure about how you're supposed to treat other people - kindness, apologizing, the whole kit and caboodle. It's mentioned in her case files that Ifrit can't even tell the difference between "right" and "wrong." They're concepts she wasn't taught, and she has no real frame for what is and isn't good.

This is magnified by the fact that Ifrit works without a filter - on her words, on her actions, and on her emotions. She wears her emotions on her sleeve, and makes no attempt to disguise them, even if they should be anger or frustration. She easily gets caught up in and swept away by her emotional state, something that makes her come across as hotheaded and, occasionally, dangerous. The same is true for her words and actions, as mentioned - she doesn't stop to consider the effects or her words and actions. As soon as she has an impulse to do something, she does it immediately and without hesitation. Even if the idea is a bad one, or dangerous.

Something else that goes hand in hand with all of this is Ifrit's self-confidence. She believes herself truly capable of anything, and isn't afraid to show this. She'll take on dangerous missions, or simply brag to no end about her own greatness. Although this is somewhat reigned in by others around her, she's still somebody who could even be described as egotistical.

However, she's also changing for the better. Silence describes how Ifrit used to be back at Rhine Labs.
She... She's learned to laugh. Not the kind of smile that terrifies everyone. It's not a scary smile. That was the first time I saw her give me, and anyone for that matter, a real smile.
Ifrit's emotional growth was stunted being raised in Rhine Labs, to the point she never showed genuine happiness. Now Ifrit will smile for those around her and show off her own happiness.

The guidance of those around her is changing her in other ways as well. She's learning to control herself and her powers. She's learning morals - it's no longer the case that she can't tell right from wrong in all cases. She's learning what to do and not to do, and even if she doesn't reign in her impulses all the time, she's learned to apologize when she does something wrong. The expectations placed on her help ground her, the trust shown in her makes her want to prove herself worthy of that trust.

It can definitely be said that Ifrit values the people she cares about very highly, even if there aren't many people who have earned her trust and devotion. But Silence, Saria, the Doctor... Magallan, Muelsyse. They've earned her trust, and Ifrit works to prove herself to them. She wants them to see her as somebody worthy of the same respect she shows to them. Worthy of their love, even. They're people who worked to see Ifrit as more than an experiment or a monster, and Ifrit doesn't forget that. So it's clear that while it might be difficult to get Ifrit to care about a person, once she does, she'll care for them with the same gusto she gives to everything else, and their expectations and guidance then help to shape Ifrit as a person as well.

Key themes: Found family, the effect of intense trauma during childhood, and personal growth inspired by the people you're close to

Main Motivation: Proving herself. Ifrit is a girl with supreme self-confidence and a desire to show off, but it's not simply pride. She wants to show off her skills, to prove to others that she's as great as she says she is. She also wants to prove to herself that she can back up her words with actions.

Skills: Ifrit is rated by Rhodes Island as "Normal" in most areas of combat operations, with the exception of Tactical Planning (Flawed) and Originium Adaptability (Outstanding.) In other words, she's extremely bad at planning and extremely good at using Originium Arts, or "magic." However, despite her nature as a Caster, rating her at Normal in other areas of combat shows that she's capable of some level of self-defense even without her flames.

Her natural talent is towards using fire, and with her Originium she can manifest extremely hot, dangerous flames, a phenomenon labeled "multiple combustion." Although normally enhanced with her Flame Emitter for battles, she's nonetheless fully capable of manifesting these flames without it, to a degree that her powers going haywire could be considered the strength of a natural disaster.

Although technically these are just flavorings to her abilities, I'll list her in-game Talents and Skills here as well, and how they'd translate in-universe.

Talent One- Spiritual Dissolution: Lowers the Resistance of enemies within range, making them take more damage from Arts abilities. What this translates to in-universe is the equivalent of her flames, due to their nature as Ifrit's unique Originium Art, dealing more damage to people who would normally be resistant to flames or magic.

Talent Two- Rhine Loop: Restores extra skill points every couple seconds. All this means is that Ifrit recovered her energy (used for Originium Arts) at an extremely fast pace, moreso than other magic users.

Skill One- Fanaticism: Increased attack and attack speed. Simply translates to the fact that when Ifrit goes into an angered or battle-tranced state, her flames are stronger and faster.

Skill Two- Pyroclasm: Stored attack. Deals extra damage, deals burn damage over time, and strips her targets' Defense. What this would translate to is an intense burn attack that can be done when she stores up her energy for one intense attack.

Skill Three- Scorched Earth: Continuous flame deals damage per second and reduces Resistance, and also damages Ifrit. This one is more a signification that Ifrit can release her flames in a large area, sustained attack, but in doing so she's susceptible to the heat herself.

Item: A choker with a single feather, given to her by Silence

Sample: This should be enough

Notes: A wiki page about Oripathy, the disease Ifrit is Infected with.

Ifrit's clinical analysis is as follows:

[Cell-Originium Fusion Rate] 19%
Patient's body has exhibited multiple crystallizations with lesions appearing throughout the body. The patient's infection is currently properly controlled and crystals show no sign of spreading.

[Blood Crystal Density] 0.51u/L
Blood Crystal Density is slowly increasing and is currently being managed by a secondary treatment regimen carried out by the Medic Team.
